Visitation Fact Sheet
- On March 13, 2020 New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) issued guidance to Nursing Homes limiting visitation due to the COVID-19 Virus Pandemic.
- On July 10, 2020, NYSDOH updated the guidance to allow outdoor visitation and limited indoor visitation if the Nursing Home meets specific benchmarks and develops a reopening plan.
- Currently, Kirkhaven is planning to begin limited outdoor visits in our Courtyard on Wed. July 22nd. Weather permitting. Tent covered area is available.
- Under certain limited circumstances, visitation can be inside in a well-ventilated space. (1st Floor Lobby Area). Staff will determine suitable visit location based on resident needs.
- Visitors must be screened, including temperature checks and comply with social distancing and wear face masks at all times.
- Any visitor who fails to adhere to the visitation policy will be prohibited from visiting for the duration of the COVID 19 state declared public health emergency.
- Kirkhaven will not permit any in room visitation unless resident is receiving end of life care.
- Visits are by appointment only and limited to approximately 30 minutes.
- Zoom, FaceTime and balcony visits are still available on weekends between 10am-12noon and 2pm-4pm.
- Residents are allowed 2 visitors at a time. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older.
- We apologize for the inconvenience, at this time facility restrooms are not accessible to visitors.
- If the facility falls out of compliance with the requirements due to a new onset of COVID-19 among staff or residents, visitation will be halted immediately.
- Hours for Outside Visitation: Monday – Friday: 10am – 12 noon & 2pm – 4pm by appointment only. Please call your designated social worker or the House Manager, leave message or email: COVID19info@kirkhaven.com
