On March 13, 2020 New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) issued guidance to Nursing Homes limiting visitation due to the COVID-19 Virus Pandemic.
On July 10, 2020, NYSDOH updated the guidance to allow outdoor visitation and limited indoor visitation if the Nursing Home meets specific benchmarks and develops a reopening plan.
Currently, Kirkhaven is planning to begin limited outdoor visits in our Courtyard on Wed. July 22nd. Weather permitting. Tent covered area is available.
Under certain limited circumstances, visitation can be inside in a well-ventilated space. (1st Floor Lobby Area). Staff will determine suitable visit location based on resident needs.
Visitors must be screened, including temperature checks and comply with social distancing and wear face masks at all times.
Any visitor who fails to adhere to the visitation policy will be prohibited from visiting for the duration of the COVID 19 state declared public health emergency.
Kirkhaven will not permit any in room visitation unless resident is receiving end of life care.
Visits are by appointment only and limited to approximately 30 minutes.
Zoom, FaceTime and balcony visits are still available on weekends between 10am-12noon and 2pm-4pm.
Residents are allowed 2 visitors at a time. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older.
We apologize for the inconvenience, at this time facility restrooms are not accessible to visitors.
If the facility falls out of compliance with the requirements due to a new onset of COVID-19 among staff or residents, visitation will be halted immediately.
